Walk & Talk: Learn French with a French Tutor in Paris

As a French tutor in Paris, I created "Walk & Talk lessons" for students who want to practice French naturally while discovering the city.

I’m Caroline, a French tutor based in Paris, and this is one of my favorite ways to teach French.

We don’t sit at a table. We don’t fill in grammar exercises. Instead, we walk together through Paris and discuss.

That’s how French lives. For me, that is how French is meant to be learned.

Why I Created Walking French Lessons in Paris

Many of my students tell me the same thing: “I can understand French sometimes, but when I need to speak… I can't. It’s so difficult.”

So I thought: Why not offer lessons that allow us to live in French?

When we walk together:

  • Your body can relax more than when you do an exercise on paper or use an app.

  • Your brain works differently (yes, it does!).

  • Words come more naturally (context helps).

Conversation feels easier when you’re side by side, not face to face at a desk.

What a Walking French Lesson in Paris Looks Like

We meet in Paris (I often start around Montmartre, but not exclusively), and we begin to walk and speak.

We talk about:

  • What you see

  • What you’re doing

  • Your life in Paris or your home country

  • Things that come up naturally

  • Your life, your travels...

I gently correct you, help you rephrase, and provide vocabulary you’ll reuse the same day.

There is no script and, of course, NO pressure. Just real French. It’s just you and me!

Who Is the Walk & Talk in Paris Ideal For?

Walking French lessons are perfect if you:

  • Live in Paris or just arrived here

  • Are on vacation in Paris

  • Understand French but don’t feel confident speaking

  • Want practical, everyday French with me

  • Don’t enjoy traditional classroom lessons (yes, it’s totally different)

Learning French in Context Changes Everything

When words are linked to:

  • A street

  • A café

  • A shop

  • Sports events

  • A moment

  • A trip

  • Food

You remember them.

French will stop being something you *study* and will become something you *use*.

Learn French the Way Paris Feels

Paris isn’t quiet or perfectly structured, and real French isn’t either.

If you want to learn French while walking in Paris, in a way that feels human, relaxed, and effective, this is for you.

The Benefits of Walking Lessons

Walking lessons offer numerous benefits. They provide a unique environment that fosters learning. When you’re in a dynamic setting, your mind is more open to absorbing new information.

Natural Learning Environment

The streets of Paris serve as a classroom. Each corner has a story. Each café has its own vibe. This makes learning more engaging. You’re not just memorizing words; you’re experiencing them.

Building Confidence

Speaking in a relaxed environment helps build confidence. You can practice without the fear of judgment. This is crucial for language acquisition. The more you practice, the more fluent you become.

Cultural Immersion

Walking through Paris allows for cultural immersion. You’ll learn not just the language but also the culture. This includes customs, traditions, and everyday life. Understanding these elements enhances your language skills.

Flexibility in Learning

Walking lessons are flexible. We can adapt our discussions based on your interests. Whether it’s art, food, or history, we can explore various topics. This keeps the lessons fresh and exciting.

A Personalized Experience

Each lesson is tailored to you. I focus on your specific needs and goals. This personalized approach ensures that you get the most out of your learning experience.

Conclusion

Learning French in Paris through walking lessons is a unique experience. It combines language learning with cultural exploration. You’ll gain confidence and fluency in a relaxed environment.

If you’re ready to take your French to the next level, consider joining me for a Walk & Talk lesson.

À bientôt,
